Job description

Butler Rose are currently partnered with an established Manhattan based organisation who is looking for an experienced and traditional Bookeeper to join their busy office.


  • Assist with management, monitoring, and preparation of budgets
  • Verify financial reports based on grant/contract and other fund requirements
  • Construct financial statements and reports
  • Assist with monitoring, tracking and verifying all accounts assigned
  • Work with administrative and program staff to prepare grant billings and other association invoices
  • Perform technical aspects of accounting data entry and functions according to established procedures and policies.


  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience within a similar role is required
  • Proficient in computer operations of the Windows operating system, one or more major double-entry accounting software programs, and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate, error-free financial and statistical records.
  • Ability to ensure confidentially of information relating to financial and sensitive personnel matters at all times.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or college level accounting courses and two years of experience in accounting, finance or related area OR equivalent combination of experience and education.
